Winter Duals 9 and 10 – Jacks Birthday
This was supposed to be a series of 10 dual races over the winter; it just became 11! With the advent of Farmer Jacks 40th Birthday we persuaded him that the best way to celebrate would be to have a dual race on his farm, then go to a big beer festival. He agreed.
The race itself was legendary, with 40 riders turning out to race. Running a bracket of 32 it meant qualis and some disappointed riders. Including my mate will who had driven all the way from Bristol! Ahh well. Many thanks to John Horscroft who took him for a tour of Greno woods, not a completely wasted trip!
With Krad on the decks the party atmosphere was assured and after an hours practice, racing commenced and a few beers were cracked. The usual dual shenanigans ensued.
Including some serious mini bike abuse.
Then the racing began in earnest.
The victors got to pick from the prize pile first, but Jack was thanked with his own stash!

Jacks best present was from his better half Anna. Heres Peaty trying it on for size.
With racing done, the rum drunk and a hour before the beer fest it was time for some more entertainment. Here’s how JoBo and Chay made the most of their time.
Then came the Long Jump contest which was spectacularly won by Craig ‘Boost’ Evans and lost by Loosedog who walked away… well hobbled, with a knee 3 times its normal size!
It was the most amazing dual we’ve had in a while… then we celebrated!
Watch out for a full report with amazing photos by Dunc in DIRT 147 with a write up from me. Also, this whole epic was filmed by JoBo so will be featuring in the up coming episode of TIP! Keep em locked.
Dual 10 was 3 days later and a much quieter affair bidding farewell to our beloved Endcliffe park for another season. Conditions were prime and the loam was actually dry for the first time ever. It made for some very fast and tight racing with an interesting twist in the track. I’d engineered a ‘coming together’ half way down the track meaning that shut downs and passing moves were tried every round with varying success. Great fun and a fitting end to our Park season.
So to the results, first Jacks Birthday.
Now round 10 – Back in Endcliffe
So going in to the final round its still up for grabs. Good results could here could see the top 5 moving all over the place. Theres a battle on and its going to be on fast grass!!
