I was a bit nervous about asking people to spend their hard earned cash on a kid’s bike they may only ever race four times, but I needn’t have been. Like the wheels, the cost is very small and like the us, the fun is very large. The arbitrary set of rules I can up with were:
- Wheels must be no larger than 16”
- The frame must be designed for 16” or smaller wheels
- Bike modification is encouraged and may be rewarded.
- The races shall remain secret until just before the event
The Trans-Provence is one of the most mental bike races around. A week of amazing riding and adventure. Ash has just fired over this appeal… they’re looking for a couple of people to work the week of the race… are you free???
Unfortunately, two of our camp & logistics team for the upcoming Mavic Trans-Provence have had to drop out, leaving us to seek two new staff members.
Younger people and students are welcome and I would generally be very willing to be a referee on a young person’s CV (plus TP could be a pretty interesting thing for someone aspiring for a role in project management to experience first hand, all the more if they’re into MTB). Older-than-student people welcome too. One of the jobs requires driving a pretty big panel van.
Help would be needed from Wednesday 17/09 until Saturday 27/09 (although 20/09 – 27/09 *might* work). It’s a tough week and a bit, but it’s a brilliant team to work on, and getting to meet and work for some of the best riders on the planet is pretty cool.
There is compensation but nobody’s going to be retiring off it. I will discuss this individually with those who put themselves forward. I can be reached on email@example.com

Whatever the reason.. Just ride
I’m a bit late on this, but not as late as PinkBike. Our roving sex pest, Duncan, was awarded another POD over on Pinkbike a couple of weeks ago for this shot of sexy beast Swinny. The shot dates back quite a long time but its a classic combination of the skills of both men. Swinny spraying up the dust and Dunc panning the action to perfection.
So, mid point of the season has already arrived. It’s been a crazy first half of a year with a mixed bag of results on the European stage.
A huge thanks has to go out to all those who have helped make this year happen for me. After getting the bike together just in time for the World Cup round up in Fort William, I spent the following 5 weeks in Europe chasing races & learning the characteristics of the new build on my bike. To say I’m happy with the setup is an understatement, I feel faster & more confident than ever before with the bike.
It’s been a season of transition so far, after a couple of years aboard the same kit, this year I have picked up a few component deals & had to adapt quickly to the new feel of the bike.
Marzocchi suspension, provided by Windwave, have been a very positive upgrade. With the professional support from Pedro at Fort William & Leogang World Cups, I feel very comfortable & confident with the feel of the suspension.
FSA gravity light bars/stem, cranks/chain guide & seatpost, provided again by Windwave. Lightweight with a solid feel throughout.
The great feeling Sensus grips from Hookit Products. Extra long in length with a soft compound wave effect. The Swayze has held up well to wear. A great feeling grip.
Stans ZTR flow EX wheels, through Paligap, have held up to a beating from some brutal tracks.
The build was finished off by the guys down at Uberbike. With there own products, floating disc rotors & pads, brake mounts, Ti bolts, gear & brake hoses. They also did a cracking job of putting the whole build together for me on a tight schedule! Cheers guys!
